  • Donovan Mitchell and James Harden combined for 33 points as Cleveland never trailed in the game.
  • Evan Mobley and Dean Wade provided a boost for the Cavaliers in their return from recent injuries.

The Cleveland Cavaliers continued their dominant run on Thursday night with a commanding 112-84 victory over the Brooklyn Nets. This win extends Cleveland’s winning streak to a season-high six games. The Cavaliers have now won 11 of their last 12 matchups overall. Playing at Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse, the team also secured its fifth straight victory on home court.

Cleveland established control immediately and never trailed during the entire contest. This marks the second game in a row and the sixth time this season that the Cavaliers have led from start to finish. The team displayed elite efficiency in the first half by shooting a season-best 64.2 percent from the field. By the intermission, Cleveland held a comfortable 70-48 advantage.

Donovan Mitchell led the offensive charge with 17 points in just 21 minutes of play. James Harden mirrored this impact by contributing 16 points and nine assists. Harden showed his range early by hitting his first six shots, including three successful three-pointers. The duo orchestrated a fast-paced attack that the Brooklyn defense simply could not contain.

The Cavaliers’ lead reached its peak at 43 points during the third quarter. This massive margin allowed head coach Kenny Atkinson to rest his primary starters for the entire fourth period. Jarrett Allen was a force in the paint early on, scoring 10 of his 15 points in the first quarter. Cleveland’s depth proved too much for a struggling Brooklyn squad.

The game also saw the return of key defensive anchor Evan Mobley. After missing seven games with a calf strain, the reigning Defensive Player of the Year recorded 10 points and nine rebounds. Dean Wade also returned to the rotation after a three-game absence due to an ankle injury. Wade contributed 10 points and three successful shots from beyond the arc.

Brooklyn struggled to find any offensive rhythm against the aggressive Cleveland defense. Michael Porter Jr. led the Nets with 14 points, while Ochai Agbaji added 13 points off the bench. However, the Nets have now lost 20 of their last 25 games since late December. Their shooting remained inconsistent as they fell behind by double digits early in the first quarter.

Cleveland now faces a demanding schedule with five games set to take place over the next seven days. The team will look to maintain its momentum as they travel to Charlotte for a Friday night matchup. Brooklyn will also be back in action quickly as they head to Oklahoma City. This latest victory solidifies Cleveland’s position as one of the top contenders in the Eastern Conference.
