Emirates Airline has announced a major expansion of its upgraded cabin experience, now bringing its Premium Economy product and enhanced onboard offerings to a wider network of global destinations. The move is part of the carrier’s large-scale retrofit and aircraft deployment programme aimed at standardising comfort and service across its fleet of long-haul jets.
Central to this strategy is the retrofit of high-density two-class Airbus A380 aircraft into a three-class configuration that includes Business Class, Premium Economy and Economy Class seating. The first of these converted A380s is due to enter service by mid-April, initially on flights between Dubai and Amman and later on routes such as Prague. Emirates plans to complete similar upgrades across its entire fleet of two-class A380s by November 2026, dramatically increasing the reach of its Premium Economy product.
Under the expanded cabin rollout, Emirates will deploy retrofitted A380s and Boeing 777-200LR aircraft on key transcontinental services. From March onwards, flights to cities such as New York JFK, Zurich, Milan and Dublin will operate with the upgraded cabins, offering travellers enhanced seating, additional amenities and a more consistent travel experience. Routes in Asia, including Ho Chi Minh City, Hong Kong and Guangzhou, are also scheduled to receive cabin upgrades later in the year.
The global expansion of Premium Economy reflects Emirates’ broader network strategy of meeting evolving passenger expectations for comfort without the full premium fare. Premium Economy cabins typically include wider seats with greater legroom, upgraded entertainment options and elevated meal service, bridging the gap between Business and Economy classes. In addition to the A380, Emirates is also integrating new Airbus A350 aircraft into its network, bringing the latest wide-body technology with advanced cabin products and fuel-efficient performance. The A350 has already begun service on certain routes and will feature Premium Economy as part of its triple-class layout, further aligning Emirates’ cabin offering across continents.
The expanded cabin experience aligns with Emirates’ ambition to enhance quality and consistency across its long-haul network, which spans an extensive list of cities across Europe, North America, Asia, Africa and the Middle East.
