Missouri’s Central Bancompany Eyes $426.7 Million U.S. IPO — Rare for U.S. Bank
Jefferson City-based Central Bancompany plans to raise up to $426.7 million in a U.S. IPO by offering 17.8 million shares at $21-$24 each.
If completed, the bank could be valued at around $5.7 billion, a large figure for a U.S. bank IPO in the current market.
The lender had assets of roughly $19.2 billion and wealth-assets-under-advice of about $15.4 billion as of mid-year.
The IPO marks a rarity in U.S. banking: few banks have gone public since the 2008 financial crisis due to tougher regulations and volatile market conditions.
Major underwriters—Morgan Stanley and Keefe, Bruyette & Woods—are managing the deal.
The listing is set to occur on the Nasdaq Global Select Market under ticker symbol “CBC”.
