Google’s Gemini Robotics 1.5 Brings AI Into the Real World
Google DeepMind has unveiled Gemini Robotics 1.5, a new model that integrates its Gemini 1.5 AI system with robotics, enabling machines to understand instructions and interact with the physical world more naturally.
The model allows robots to process complex language prompts, plan step-by-step actions, and carry them out in real time. Demonstrations showed robots using Gemini 1.5 to tidy rooms, sort items, and respond flexibly to unexpected changes in their environment — skills traditionally difficult for AI systems.
DeepMind says the breakthrough moves AI closer to acting as “general-purpose agents” that can safely assist in everyday tasks. While still in research, Gemini Robotics 1.5 could accelerate advances in manufacturing, logistics, and personal assistance.
