Google Gives Coding Agent Jules a Command-Line & API Upgrade
Google is rolling out command-line interface (CLI) and API access for its AI coding agent Jules, opening the tool to deeper integration into developer workflows.
With the CLI, developers can start, stop, and monitor tasks directly from their terminal, sidestepping the chat interface when they prefer automation. The API launch lets teams trigger Jules programs from bug trackers, pipeline systems, or custom apps.
Other recent updates include a file selector for instructing Jules on specific code files, a memory feature so it recalls user preferences, and better handling of environment variables for safer configuration. These enhancements aim to make Jules a more powerful partner in real-world development.
