China and Iceland Strengthen Partnership on Geothermal and Green Energy

China and Iceland expand cooperation to develop geothermal and green energy solutions.

China and Iceland have agreed to expand their collaboration on geothermal and green energy development, marking a new milestone in their environmental partnership.

According to a joint statement released by Chinese state media, both nations will work closely at governmental and industry levels to advance clean energy innovation. The agreement focuses on reducing greenhouse gas emissions, supporting energy transformation, and creating green jobs and investment opportunities.

The announcement followed a meeting in Beijing between Chinese President Xi Jinping and Iceland’s President Halla Tomasdottir, where both leaders reaffirmed their commitment to sustainable growth and climate action.

This cooperation underscores the growing global focus on renewable energy partnerships, as countries seek long-term solutions to combat climate change. Iceland, known for its expertise in geothermal technology, will share its technical experience with China, the world’s largest energy consumer, to accelerate the shift toward low-carbon energy sources.

The partnership also aligns with China’s ambitious carbon-neutrality goals and Iceland’s leadership in clean energy innovation. Experts believe the collaboration could pave the way for broader green technology exchange across Europe and Asia.
