Cerebras to Build Massive “Stargate” AI Data Center Hub in UAE
Cerebras Systems, a U.S. artificial intelligence chipmaker, is building a massive AI data center in the United Arab Emirates, called “Stargate.” The facility aims to become one of the largest AI computing hubs in the world, marking a major milestone in global AI infrastructure.
Located in Abu Dhabi, Stargate will host thousands of Cerebras Wafer-Scale Engine chips, known for their unmatched speed and scale in training large language models. These chips can process complex AI tasks much faster than traditional GPUs, offering a new level of computing efficiency.
Cerebras CEO Andrew Feldman said the project highlights the UAE’s growing role in global technology. He added that the new hub will give regional and international organizations access to world-class AI computing power, reducing their dependence on U.S. or Chinese facilities.
The UAE government has positioned itself as a leader in AI adoption, investing heavily in research and infrastructure. Partnering with Cerebras will strengthen the nation’s strategy to become a Middle East innovation powerhouse. The data center will support industries such as healthcare, finance, and energy, offering faster model training and lower costs.
When completed, Stargate is expected to become one of the most advanced AI centers outside the United States. It will serve as a global hub for developing next-generation AI systems and promoting sustainable, energy-efficient computing powered by clean technologies.
